BOHICA

'Bend Over, Here It Comes Again' was a phrase coined, I believe, to describe Microsoft customers. But now it seems to apply to the NZ body politic as a whole, whatever operating system we use.
Once again, a Labour politician has been found abusively inserted into the rectal oriface of the kiwi tax-payer(as opposed to being facially inserted in the same region of their glorious leader). Why am I not shocked that Helen has declared this emperor to be clothed, or if not, then not relevant.
Maybe we should be grateful for the Greens(ouch, what a thought!), if not for the pacifist lunatic, I believe the next step in the 'Build your own tyrany' cookbook calls for a 'short, victorious war'! Look out Tonga if the Greens don't make it. No, maybe that's a little too ambitious, maybe Vanuatu.

Racial harmony in NZ? Yeah Right!

While I'm not a professional historian, I have read a bit of NZ history, and I don't think govt policy in NZ has changed much since the development of the land taking court in the 1800's. It seems fairly clear that the plan was to do whatever was required to make Maori dependent on govt charity (such as it is), while creating resentment against Maori at the same time by loudly proclaiming how much taxpayer funding was going towards 'smoothing the pillow of the dying race'. Naturally not much of the funding gets past those administering such charitable acts, but 'oh well, we're doing our best".
IMHO, the only change in these policies has been to get everyone, not just Maori, into a state of dependancy on govt funding. The goal seems to be to increase the power of those who administer such handouts. What's scary about Helen Clark is that I think she has a coherent plan for using that power once she's gained it.

Credibility? Labour? You've got to be kidding!

In an article on Stuff.co.nz Helen Clark makes reference to an issue of credibility. I'm amazed that she would want to bring anyone's attention to that. Not only this race to a rugby game, but that long ago signature on a painting not her own leaves this voter in no doubt about Helen's personal credibility. She has none. If she said the sun would rise in the east tommorrow, I'd be up early looking for it to rise in the west.
There's no doubt she's a strong leader. Unlike her political allies who seem wedded to nothing more than absolute state power over individuals, I get the idea the Helen has a clear idea of what she wants to do with that power once she's got it. What that might be, I'm not sure, but past records show it would have little to do with the well-being of any but herself and her selected cabal.

I want ADSL

I know it doesn't really count as broadband internationally, but its a hell of a lot better than my current steam-powered dialup. I bought my laptop to a mate's place to see if his adsl modem was working properly. It is, and I'm running it right now. On the other hand, by the time I can afford any new hardware, the 4G networks will be up and running. I like the idea of 100 Mbps via wireless even better than adsl.
