Computer journo's are sometimes weird

There seems to be an overwhelming desire to say something, anything, even when the information has been around for ages. I just noticed this headline come up. Which is bizzare to me. My Google news page has an AMD section, and I'm fairly sure I recall Tom's Hardware, among others, going on about AMD not bothering with DDR2 until it came in 800mhz, 'cause it wasn't worth it, performance-wise.
So why is it news that AM2 will support ddr2 800?
